CIPLA FROM CHALLENGE TO SOLUTION
Current Project: Prep Room and Kitchen Expansion
LC Mechanical served as the plumbing contractor for Cipla’s new facility at 594 Airport Road, Fall River, MA. Scope of work encompassed complete underground plumbing and final fixture installation for Cipla’s high end laboratory spaces. LC Mechanical executed all plumbing systems, including medical/industrial gas piping, compressed air distribution, and multiple vacuum systems, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and laboratory performance requirements. Their work included coordination with other trades, pressure/leak testing, certification of gas and vacuum installations, and final commissioning support.
LC Mechanical is currently engaged in Phase 3 of the Cipla facility project, supporting the completion of the plant through process and propellant piping.
Challenges and Solutions
LC Mechanical worked closely with Cipla’s engineering team to determine and implement optimal plumbing practices for the facility. Given the materials and chemicals used in the plant, LC Mechanical engineered and installed a dedicated acid waste system designed to meet FDA requirements and applicable local building and environmental codes. The scope included materials selection, corrosion control measures, neutralization and containment strategies, coordinated interfaces with process equipment, documentation for regulatory review, and commissioning to verify system performance and compliance.
Conclusion
In conclusion, LC Mechanical and Cipla have maintained a collaborative, ongoing partnership. Through continual engagement, coordinated design work, and adherence to regulatory and industry best practices, LC Mechanical has supported Cipla’s facility development across multiple phases—providing process piping, medical/industrial gas systems, acid waste engineering, and full plumbing installations to meet stringent pharmaceutical standards. This sustained cooperation positions both parties to successfully complete the plant and support compliant, safe operations.
